YouthGive Southern Africa
Digital Storytelling, Youth & Microfinance Trip

The YouthGive 2008 Digital Storytelling, Youth & Microfinance trip to Southern Africa offers a small team of youth an unparalleled opportunity to learn by doing, connect globally, and share knowledge with our peers back home.
The trip will engage students to discover and assess the growing world of microfinance that is helping to alleviate global poverty around the world. Issues such as malaria and access to safe and clean water will also be explored. Participants will be equipped with digital video cameras that will enable them to produce short (2-5 minute) digital stories on what they learn and discover during this three-week journey.
Join us as we connect with leaders of nonprofits, government and business in Zambia & South Africa dealing with key issues effecting youth * Visit nonprofits transforming the landscape of change * Assist in the distribution of bednets to fight malaria * Meet counterparts to discuss how young social entrepreneurs are addressing the key issues of our generation * Share meals with local families * Hook with the music scene * Create digital stories
