Ambassadors of Hope and Opportunity (AHO) provides that chance reach out to the young adults of our community for support to help stop the growing trend of homelessness among young adults in Marin County. The transition into adulthood is not what it used to be for many youth, especially those between the ages of 18-25, who do not have the luxury of a family safety net.AHO provides a range of programs and support from stable housing, life skill classes, to peer mentoring, scholarships, healthcare, jobs, and someone to listen and believe in them. All of the AHO staff understand and connect to these youth, as all of them have experienced homelessness and know what it is to be alone. AHO is in dire need of help and funding;we can start by reaching out to the community, inviting AHO to speak to our schools, helping them address this problem now while it’s manageable.“This is a growing trend,” says Zara Babitzke, the Founder and Executive Director of AHO said.“If we do not act,we risk losing their potential and any opportunity that these young people have to give back to the community. We are no different from one another, and by helping someone else,we help ourselves.” AHO seeks donations and volunteers who want to get involved as host families for their youth, sailing instructors, apprentice teachers in all fields, and mentors.
