The Center for Youth Integration is an orphanage in Belgrade, Serbia that reaches out to the most vulnerable residents of the city: the street children and orphans. Many of these children are sold by their parents at a young age, and then left on the streets, leading them to turn to bad habits such as violence and drugs. The Center of Youth Integration provides shelter, health care services, and attempts to obtain legal documentation for the children, which is essential for attending school and receiving government health care. This organization has had repeated contact with over 320 children and money donated to this program will provide these trafficked children with a place to stay, as well as health training for health workers. My group at school supports this program because we believe that it is essential for these children to have the opportunity to live a successful life, and to enjoy their childhood instead of worrying about their health or their next meal. We are against the concept of trafficking children, and would like to do all we can to help children who are victims of this crime. Helping the Center for Youth Integration is one step we are taking to help trafficked children get on the road to a brighter future.
