* Co-Founders

Jenny Yancey and Dan Siegel are parents who care deeply about nurturing compassion in young people and providing families and schools with tools that empower positive change. They have worked together for 25 years creating and managing nonprofit organizations, and serving as consultants, researchers, trainers and writers promoting effective philanthropy, nonprofit sector innovation, and youth leadership. Before launching YouthGive, they co-authored a landmark study on donor education funded by the Ford, Hewlett, Kellogg and Packard foundations. Siegel and Yancey have spoken nationally and globally on the philanthropic sector, led youth leadership and family philanthropy workshops and retreats, and advised individual donors and families on strategic giving. For eight years, they worked in Eastern Europe, writing a major study (The Rebirth of Civil Society) for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund on the emerging philanthropic and non-governmental sectors. They were founding Executive Directors of the Civil Society Development Foundations based in Hungary and Poland, which launched two leading national nonprofit resource and training centers that still thrive today. They live in Mill Valley, CA and enjoy seeing their children leading lives of meaning and purpose.
